Azhagiya Tamil Magan (2007) is a forthcoming high budget Tamil film directed by Bharathan. Bharathan who worked with Vijay in Ghilli as an Assistant Director and dialogue writer will be directing the movie. Its been confirmed that Shreya Saran is the lead choice for the movie. This movie is creating great expectations as Vijay and AR Rahman are joining hands. Shooting for the film has started from January 24 2007 and the movie is expected to be an August release. This will be the first movie with Vijay and Shreya. Namitha and Santhanam also play roles in the film.

The movie was officially launched on January 24th 2007 at AVM studios, Chennai. The launch was attended by a host of celebrities including the protagonist (Vijay)'s wife Mrs. Sangeetha Vijay, heroines Shreya and Namitha, Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar, Directors Perarasu, Dharani, Ramana and actor Jayam Ravi, Sreeman and many others. The movie was launched with a small lamp lighting ceremony where the celebrities present lit a lamp to start the proceedings off auspiciously.
